Hi, I’m Candice Coughenour, LMFT
I am a neurospicy Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, overthinker, and recovering people-pleaser, with a side of woo (Reiki Practitioner), and the Founder of Congruent Soul and Co-Founder of MFT GROW.
My work is rooted in feminism, systems awareness, and a deep respect for the complexity of being human in a world that often rewards disconnection from self.
Everything here is connected by one idea: learning how to live more congruently, not perfectly aligned, but honestly connected to yourself in real life.
This website is a map of that work.
Each space offers a different entry point, but they all lead back to the same intention: helping you come back into a relationship with yourself in a way that feels honest, sustainable, and human.
Here you’ll find therapy for individuals, couples, and groups, deeper healing through intensives, resources, and trainings for therapists and helpers, speaking for organizations and communities, and Somewhat Congruent, a space for writing, podcasts, and aggressively human reflections on what it actually looks like to live this out day to day.
I am also a neurospicy clinician who lives with chronic illness, which has quietly shaped how I think about pacing, capacity, and what it means to live in alignment with Self, Other, and Context, not just perform it.
It continues to deepen my understanding of being an overthinker, a recovering people-pleaser, and someone learning to move through the world with structure, softness, and a f*ck ton of whimsy.
No pressure to get it perfect.
Take what resonates, leave the rest.
Let’s heal this shit.

This is where I have fun.
I share Congruency work, people-pleaser recovery, and real-time inner child healing through a blend of evidence-based therapeutic training, somatic and energetic awareness, and a holistic approach to wellbeing.
And consider this your invitation to do it alongside me.
No one is 100% congruent all the time, so here, we aim for “somewhat congruent” and keep it real while we grow.

This is my pride and joy.
Congruent Soul was built for overthinkers, perfectionists, and people-pleasers in the process of coming back to themselves. It’s a place to pause, reflect, and take what resonates while leaving the rest.
There is no requirement here, only an invitation. Whether you are in therapy or simply in a season of self-exploration, this space is for reconnecting with yourself in a more congruent way.

Congruent Living Starts with Consideration
Thoughts + Feelings + Actions = Congruent Self
Self + Other + Context = Congruent Soul
Imagine if calm didn’t feel like something you had to earn.
Imagine if decisions didn’t feel like emergencies.
Imagine if your needs weren’t an inconvenience.
Congruent Soul Framework helps you reconnect with your Self (the real you) so you can create the life you actually want.
When we all strive for congruency, we create a congruent community. Considering Self, Other, and Context.
You don’t need the whole plan.
Just the next aligned step.
