Therapy for Overthinkers, People-Pleasers, and Emotionally Overwhelmed Adults
Online therapy for adults in PA, GA, and FL who feel overwhelmed, overthink everything, and are tired of holding it all together.
Therapy is not about fixing you. It is about understanding why your nervous system keeps doing what it learned to do and how to shift it.
Are You Tired of Holding It All Together?
You may look functional on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, overthinking, or emotionally exhausted internally.
You might relate to:
overthinking everything
people-pleasing and boundary struggles
anxiety or chronic stress
burnout or emotional overload
feeling disconnected from yourself
These are the main patterns we explore in therapy based on anxiety, overthinking, burnout, identity, and relational stress.
Core Areas of Focus
-
Anxiety, Overthinking & Nervous System Overload
For minds that won’t slow down and tend to overanalyze everything. Support for anxiety, chronic stress, racing thoughts, and feeling mentally overwhelmed. Therapy helps you understand these patterns and build more calm, clarity, and self-trust.
-
People-Pleasing & Boundaries
For those who overextend, overgive, or feel responsible for other people’s emotions. This work focuses on releasing guilt, strengthening boundaries, and learning how to prioritize your own needs without disconnecting from others.
-
Perfectionism & High Achievement Pressure
For those who feel constant internal pressure to perform, achieve, or get everything right. Therapy helps soften the inner critic, reduce self-pressure, and create a more sustainable and compassionate relationship with yourself.
-
Neurodivergent Burnout & Overstimulation
For ADHD traits, masking fatigue, sensory overload, and chronic emotional or mental exhaustion. This work supports understanding your nervous system, honoring your capacity, and moving away from constant overextension.
-
Identity, Self-Worth & Emotional Healing
For those questioning who they are beyond roles, achievements, or survival patterns. This work supports identity exploration, inner child healing, and reconnecting with a more grounded sense of self-worth and authenticity.
If you want to explore these patterns more deeply, you can read reflections on anxiety, people-pleasing, and nervous system patterns in the Therapy Blog.

My Approach
My work is rooted in feminism, systems awareness, and a postmodern understanding of human experience. I view emotional distress not as something located only within the individual but as something shaped by relationships, culture, identity, and the broader systems we live within.
Many of these patterns such as anxiety, burnout, overthinking, people-pleasing, and identity confusion often make more sense when viewed in the context of environments that reward over-functioning, emotional suppression, and disconnection from self.
Therapy here is about understanding yourself within those systems, not blaming yourself for adapting to them.
Spiritual, Intuitive & Holistic Healing Lens
For those who experience life through intuition, emotional depth, symbolism, spirituality, or energetic awareness.
This work integrates psychological understanding with personal meaning-making. Many clients come with a strong inner sense of knowing, spiritual beliefs, or intuitive experiences and want therapy that does not dismiss those parts of their identity.
Therapy here does not require you to separate mind, body, and spirit. Instead, we explore how your nervous system, emotions, and inner experience all interact—while staying grounded, supportive, and psychologically informed.
Whether you identify as spiritual, intuitive, sensitive, or simply deeply reflective, this space supports you in staying connected to yourself in a way that feels both grounded and meaningful.
Hi, I’m Candice Coughenour, LMFT
I am a neurospicy Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, overthinker, and recovering people-pleaser, with a side of woo (Reiki Practitioner), and the Founder of Congruent Soul and Co-Founder of MFT GROW.
Everything here is connected by one idea: learning how to live more congruently, not perfectly aligned, but honestly connected to yourself in real life.
My work is rooted with respect for the complexity of being human, especially in a Western world that often rewards disconnection from self and other.
No pressure to get it perfect.
Take what resonates, leave the rest.
