Insurance & Out-of-Network Benefits

Congruent Soul Therapy is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly.

Depending on your insurance plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits. If this is something you're interested in, bring it up during your free 15-minute Vibe Check or reach out with your questions.

You can also contact your insurance provider to ask about out-of-network mental health benefits, reimbursement rates, deductibles, and documentation requirements.

Reimbursement depends on your individual plan and is not guaranteed.

Therapy Beyond a Diagnosis

You're a human being, not a diagnosis.

One reason I choose to work as a private-pay therapist is that I want therapy to have room for the full complexity of being human.

Mental health diagnoses can be useful. They can help people make sense of their experiences, access treatment, and find community with others who understand. But I also believe that not every painful, complicated, or exhausting human experience needs to be understood primarily through a diagnostic label.

Sometimes anxiety, burnout, people-pleasing, or feeling disconnected from yourself makes more sense when we look at your relationships, your environment, your history, and what you've had to navigate in life.

Your experience deserves to be understood in context, not just categorized.

Psychiatric diagnoses are human-developed classification systems shaped by historical, cultural, and professional influences. They can offer one way of understanding distress, but they don't tell the whole story of who you are.

Because I don't bill insurance directly, my practice isn't structured around meeting an insurance company's diagnostic criteria for coverage or reimbursement. This gives our work more room to focus on your experiences, your goals, your relationships, and the patterns you want to understand or change.

This doesn't mean diagnosis has no place in therapy. It means a diagnosis doesn't have to be the center of your story.

I'm interested in more than what symptoms you have or which category you might fit into. I want to understand how you experience the world, what matters to you, how you've learned to navigate relationships, and what a more congruent life could look like for you.

You're more than a checklist of symptoms. Therapy can be about more than figuring out what's wrong with you. It's about understanding yourself.
