In the Moments I Chose Myself

Congruency isn’t selfish. It’s honest.
In the moments I choose myself: my thoughts, my feelings, my actions. I also chose connection.
What we call luck might just be alignment compounding over time.

Doing your best doesn’t always mean things go smoothly. Sometimes it looks like juggling everything....work, growth, relationships, stress and still missing the mark in someone else’s eyes. Lately, I’ve been deep in the chaos: building, creating, renovating (literally and emotionally). And in the middle of it, I had to face a hard truth: 👉 I can do my best… and someone can still feel hurt. 👉 More than one thing can be true at the same time. This week’s reminder: You’re allowed to give yourself grace and take accountability. You’re allowed to honor your effort and respect someone else’s feelings. Growth isn’t about getting it perfect; It’s about getting more honest. With yourself. With others. Can’t remember the last time you considered yourself first…or at all? This one is for you. People-pleasing isn’t a personality trait…it’s a survival strategy. A strategy your system learned to stay safe, connected, or valued. Maybe you step into the helper role automatically. Maybe you say “yes” while your whole body is screaming “no.” Maybe you’re holding everything together on the outside while quietly falling apart on the inside. Boundaries feel confusing, heavy, or guilt-filled. Your needs feel optional.  Other people’s expectations feel urgent. And you’re tired …not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. If this resonates, you’re not broken you adapted. I like to think about congruency as a simple pie chart: self, other, and context.  The goal is to balance each piece as best as we can. And if you’re stuck in people-pleasing, I can almost guarantee you’re not considering yourself enough.
