No Issues Here
Insight# 1: Reframing this weekly practice into something that actually fits.
I have been struggling with calling these weekly ramblings “newsletters.”
First, because I’m not sure I actually know what a newsletter is.
Second, because I’m not really sharing news. I’m sharing me.
Something about this process has felt really grounding.
And another part has felt… not quite aligned. Almost forced.
I started with a newsletter template that numbers the “issues,” but like…
no issues here.
With the start of the Lunar New Year, I’m reframing this practice I’ve come to love and rely on. Because no matter what I choose to call it, I do know what it is.
It’s my unicorn space.
If you’re unfamiliar with that phrase, I learned it from the book Fair Play. In it, the author describes happiness as a balance of friendships, self-care, and unicorn space.
Unicorn space is the time you spend doing something you love that fills up your cup and sharing it with others.
Truthfully, my job lives in unicorn space territory.
But this weekly email? This is really my unicorn space.
I get to show up as me, for me, and share it with others, whether you read it or not.
So if you’ve been looking for a way to increase your happiness, I genuinely recommend rounding out your friendships, your self-care, and your unicorn space.
As for me, these “newsletters” are officially being renamed.
From now on, this space is called Somewhat Congruent.
And instead of “issues,” they’ll be numbered as Insights.
And I’ll be honest — I feel giddy about it.
It feels a little more me.
A little more honest.
A little more aligned.
So if you’re reading this, thank you for witnessing me.
I hope these emails offer you a small gem to carry with you from time to time.
And just like that, you’ve officially read Somewhat Congruent — Insight #1.
I can’t wait to share many more with you.
With a little more alignment,
Candice
P.S. A small sneak peek: over the next month or so, I’ll be sharing what I’m learning and noticing about myself while living through a home renovation. I’m calling it the Renovation Revelation Series, and I can’t wait to share more next week in Somewhat Congruent.
